Rear axel replacement

Thank you to everyone for the good advice... I have had a bit of an issue with the guy who was going to sell me the parts truck, he changed his mind

Either way, I was able to get a used diff for 70.00 and have access to an Auto Hobby Club. So yesterday I swapped in the new diff. All good... however there was a couple of good sized dents in the housing. Hoping that is not an issue.

I attached some pictures from the day, again thanks for the help and advice.

Shame Clint, that's one dead diff but if the damage isn't too bad to the crownwheel and pinion they may be able to rebuild it with new planet gears and pin. The dents aren't serious, as Dusty says, provided they don't leak oil. Beware of any heavy dents on the vertical rib as that's the crownwheel housing space. Good luck with the switchover.
