secondary air pipe removal

Doing my first head gasket job. Do I need to remove the sa pipes to get the I'M off?

Yes you have too. But use an impact hammer to bust them loose. otherwise they will snap like a twig. Oh and take off the exhaust nuts when the engine is hot or else they will snap.
