HELP!!! my son was backing my rover into the driveway, put it in drive to straighten it out, wouldn't budge from reverse so he turned off the car to restart to see if that would solve the problem- it didn't. now the car is stuck in reverse, won't start because it's not in park and hanging precariously out into the street-did i mention its 8 am sturday morning ?????

 

Ok, it's fixed-clip that hold reverse button in inside gear lever popped off, telling the ignition that the car waws still in reverse so it wouldn't start or release key. Next, the shifter cable underneath the car was missing a clip connecting it to the shifter. we manually put it in park from there and made a makeshift clip using a paper clip, reset clip in shifter and voila!!!!! back in biz!!!!!!
