Default Td5 2004 dead short on cables going to fluid sensor

Hello
Please help. The handbrake light stays on as well as the three amigos. The handbrake switch works as well as the brake fluid sensor but the voltage to each is only 0.7v and the two cables going to the fluid sensor are a dead short.
The only local garage that said they can diagnose says that they can only fit me in next month.
I might have to buy a diagnostic tool but I really don’t want to.

You should post your question in the D2 subforum rather than this general one. The brake systems should be the same for the TD5 as for the petrol engine versions.
