1997 Range Rover 4.0 thought my car was on fire! Car was over heating and was really close to my house so i did not pull over. Car temp gage was on high then dropped all the way to the blue cool line. I got a message that said temp gage fault. As soon I read that what i thought was smoke was coming through the vents. Quickly got out of the car and started to run. Friend opened my hood and there was no smoke coming from the engine. Car still starts but had to wait for the smoke/vapor to clear and moved it to a safe location. If anyone can give me a heads up on what you think it might be that would be great! Car is in San Francisco Ca

 

What did the smoke smell like, sweet or electrical?

 

it was sweet, but freaked out becasue I have never seen anything like it, we opened the bonnett and there was no smoke etc coming from the engine compartament

 

Heater core just cracked .

 

Sounds right, boy that is a nasty job to.

 

lol... you made me laugh dude when you said you started to run. Its ok. I will run too if that happens to me. Its hard to fix that but its fixable.
