Trouble with my Disco II, need help fast
I'm out of town on vacation - a long way from home - in the Smoky Mountains. Staying in Gatlinburg area.
Our 2000 Disco II started developing a problem yesterday. It started stuttering while driving. Acts like something is interrupting the fuel supply. At first, it was a pretty rare occurrence - every 15 minutes or so. But this morning it got much worse. The stuttering is particularly bad just as you press in the gas pedal. The Disco also seems to be losing some power as well. The "service engine soon" light also is blinking.
I'm supposed to head home tomorrow morning - and it's a long 500 miles to St. Louis.
I'm guessing this is a problem that's not going to wait until I get home to fix it. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Looking around right now to see if I can find any Land Rover repair folks in this area.

Ok,
I could only find one mechanic open at this point on Saturday - and he was closing up shortly after I called. So I ran the truck over.
It has 82,000 miles. Only use premium gas.
The check engine light was not on. But the Service Engine Soon light was on and blinking.
It has been a while since the last tuneup (not sure about the mileage and the records are at home). The mechanic said the wires looked pretty bad. Suggested a tuneup might do the trick.
He read the codes, which said there were misfires in cylinders 2 and 3.
Also gave the dealer code 1300.
