Valentine One And Heated Windshield
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Valentine One radar is useless on the heated windhshield of my LR2. Valentine says there must be a film on the windshield and it is not the heating elements that create a problem. Land Rover dealership never heard of the problem and does not even know where to put an EZ pass so that it sees through the windshield. Land Rover regional says the rain sensor may be the problem. I doubt it. Before going out and spending more dollars on a new radar detector, is there any spot on the LR2 windshield where a radar detector (V1) will work? Thanks for the help.

I have had (sadly now stolen
) a Valentine One and found the same problem. Hopeless behind the windscreen. Dunno if it's the heating wires (could well be) or the heat-reflective coating, but one of them brings the detector to its knees..
Will have to investigate one with remote sensors. Any suggestions?

You guys must be rich to afford to speed so often in a Land Rover that you can afford all the gas you are using.
If you can afford that you can afford the behind the grill ultra expensive radar detector.
As for the Speed Pass, put it directly behind the rearview mirror, that area is usually void of any heating elements as you cant look out of that part anyway.

On interstate near me, cops had highway department program some of those portable signs.
Sign 1: DUI checkpoint 1 mile ahead
Sign 2: Liscense check 1 mile ahead
Sign 3: Insurance check 1 mile ahead
So then you top a small hill, and see on the next hill a police car with blue light on, parked under a bridge. BUT, there is an exit between you and the cop; AND when you take that exit --- 20 cops at the stop sign....
