Default Vermont Mechanics?

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a reputable independent Rover shop near Woodstock, Vermont. I live in the middle of nowhere up here. I've been doing a lot of DIY repairs and service on my 2004 Disco II (thanks entirely to this forum), but I'm stuck on some things and I'd like to just get the Rover in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing. The nearest dealer is a couple of hours away (and I'd prefer not to take out a second mortgage anyway).

I tried a regular Yellow Pages mechanic in White River Junction, but they had no idea what they were doing with a Rover. If there's a thread on this, I couldn't find it so sorry if this has already been posted.

I'd appreciate any input any Vermonters have!

While waiting on a referral, what are you stuck on?

I've got P1451 and P1481. I posted them in a DII thread a few weeks ago and you were kind enough to direct me to the Engine manuals. I read through the overview and parts 1-3, and even found the specific area that deals with those trouble codes, which indicate Leak Detection Pump (Power Stage) and Leak Detection Pump (Heater Circuit).

I know where the pump is, and I have a vague idea how it works based on the engine manuals, but I think this might be slightly above my skill level.

Thanks to this forum, I've had great success doing so many other things like bleeding coolant and brakes, throttle body cleaning and seafoam, finding out I already had upgraded drive shaft, etc., but I think I may need a helping hand on this one.

it needs a new dmtl pump, its located in front of the rear axle. its has a box and some hoses that run to it and out of it with one connector. the pump is powered by that connector.

OK, I wasn't sure if just replacing the pump based on the codes was the right course of action. The connectors and hoses seem okay.

Thanks for that info, I had found them on Google maps but wasn't sure if they were legit. Web site at least looks like they know what they're talking about. But, if I'm just replacing the leak detection pump, I'm pretty sure I can handle it myself. THIS is the only item I can find for my D2, and that looks like the whole assembly, not just the pump. Anyone know where I can buy just the pump? I found the repair info on page 17-2-64 (PDF Page 297) of the DII Workshop Manual but I can't find the pump part. The repair looks really straightforward.

DAP has been in existence since the 70's, started out in Wareham, MA.
