Default Warning lights

Let me start by saying I really do not know much about vehicles except general maintenance. I have a 2004 discovery that the drive indicator blinks along with the mode lights T and S. If you turn it off and back on the S mode light comes on and you can push the mode selctor and the will go off. When the indicators are on however, it doesn't seem to want to pull out. But if you push the accelerator it will go and the lights continue to flash. Does anyone know if this could be a transmission issue?

Do you even know what the S and M lights are for and how to use them?
S is for Sport mode allowing the tranny to shift faster based on your throttle pressure and only in High range. The M is to lock the tranny into a specific gear, only in low range.

Thank you Mike. I had a vague idea what the modes where, but have no idea why they come on and continue to flash unless you turn the vehicle off and restart it.

the first thing you want to do is have your battery and alt. checked, if your charging system is not putting out better than 13.5 volt it will cause the blinking S&M lights. the reason the truck doesn't want to move is the tranny is in default mode which is 3rd gear only. hope this helps

Sure there is, manually engage the CDL and you can drive on the rear shaft only.
