My 2003 disco water pump is shot. I believe the auto shop is trying to take advantage of me because I am a woman. He told me that the cost of the water pump would cost me $206 just for the part. I called him out on this and told him that I've researched them for my vehicle and they are ranging anywhere from $35 (aftermarket on eBay) to $149 (O.E. from O'Reilly). He told me if i could get a water pump for cheaper than what he told me then to buy it and he would put it in for me. My question is what water pump should I buy? I am pressed for money but this is my second vehicle that I use as a winter beater. Is it okay to skimp and buy the cheaper part?
