Default What would you show off at a car show?

If you put your Land Rover in a car show, what would you point out or highlight to viewers who might be somewhat informed car enthusiasts or even a little familiar with 4x4, but might not know much about Land Rovers?

Never mind whether you think your Land Rover is restored or modified enough to be in a car show. It's for a good cause, and there's an "offroad" category. It doesn't matter if it's a Series, Range Rover, Discovery or whatever.

What do you think is particularly interesting to point out or highlight, whether by using signs or how you display the vehicle? What would you want people to notice? What would you try to explain?

I think it should be parked over a mirror so the on board auto spray chassis protecting oil system can be seen. Obviously parking on a pile of rocks looks good. A flat screen with looped video trailers of Rovers wading is always interesting. If black, you could paint white stripes on with tempra paint that will wash off.

A history of the engine might be novel, since it was in the early 60's Buicks, and was the same engine used in the first US production car with a turbo (Buick F-85).

I just typed up a small sheet with the technical specs and put it on a card on the bonnet. My lightweight is the only one I've had in a show. And that was close to 20 years ago. But it was good enough to win best British car or something like that.

A short write up on the offroad capabilities would also be good. If you research on the internet you'll find lots of reports and comparisons. The Merc and BMW cannot go anyway near to the LR for offroad useage and failed miserably on the Topgear course against the LR a couple of years ago. Some origins history and evolution would be good with the data and the attributes. If possible, park it up on a pile of rocks, as has been suggested, with an underneath view or mirror.
