Default 08 Lr2 Land Rover radio and interior lights work... That's it! No start or crank

When I get in the radio turns on. Interior lights work. No depression on brake. The bell dings if headlights turned to on but no headlights at all. No dash lights either. It clicks and whirs but no start or crank. HELP ?? Tried a new battery and still nothing.

What is the voltage on the battery that is installed? Did you put a battery tester on it?

Also, after checking above suggestion re battery voltage, is the pattern of the security red light/immobilizer light on dash flashing the normal pattern? Does the light pattern change upon inserting the keyfob?

Check the fuse on the main battery cable, there's a pic in this thread...

Can't be that if the radio works, bell dings and he gets clicks and whirrs.

The LR2 has different ignition modes (Power Modes would be a more appropriate term)

Mode 0 - Dock the key you are already here

Does the steering lock release? Can you move the steering wheel? (if no then the steering column lock will prevent you from going to the next mode)

Mode I - Don't touch the brake Press and hold Start/Stop for 1 second

If the Start/Stop switch is broken you won't be able to get to this mode

Mode II - Don't touch the brake Press and hold Start/Stop for 2 seconds

In this Mode you should be able to press the brake and move from PARK to NEUTRAL

If you can get to NEUTRAL then try starting from NEUTRAL (Don't forget to shift back to PARK)

Mode III - press the brake and hold Start/Stop for 1 second

The Engine should start

If the Switch for the brake pedal is broken then the engine won't start

Look at these threads

If the ECU has set a crash status it will inhibit starting until the crash status is cleared

I still think the first step should be to put a tester on the battery. If the battery is known good (instead of assumed good just because someone just changed it) then move down the line to other possible root causes. Ockham's Razor and all that.
