Default 2008 lr2 electronic nightmare

hello, newbie here, but have my 2008 lr2 for about 2 years,no problems, till now! about a week ago I was driving it, when all the lights on the dashboard illuminate at the same time, the temp gauge went all the way up, and hazard lights turned on, at that moment ,the car will not accelerate or react to the gas pedal. I turned the car off, started it again, and everything went back to normal, for about 2 minutes! and all lights come back again and car will not accelerate, also big E on dash, and transmission fault on messages. after repeating this for about 5 times to get back to the house, next day I tried to start the car, and all the dash lights will illuminate again, big E on dash, and will not even atemp to start,..I already try disconecting battery (that is brand new), and reset computer, but nothing changes, and the obd scanner can not communicate with the ecm either! please help with some ideas!!!!!!! thanks

I’m new too. Is it overheating at all? Not sure if a bad alternator would cause that to happen in the way it did. I’ll keep thinking

Tjat is exactly what it was doing when it was drivable, suddenly, all the dash will light up,temperature gauge will go to the top,and will stop accelerating. If at that moment you turn it off, after a few seconds it will start and drive normally, for 2 minutes, and everything will happen again. Also, the navigation will reset about every 3 or 4 minutes. I did see the is a reconfiguration for the body control module, may be that's a fix? Don't know, I'm completely lost, and a land rover mechanic is going to cost a pretty penny, and if is not a expert,is no going to be able to fix it. Thanks for answering!

Start simple

What is working?

Can you lock an unlock using the key fob? Lock button on the dash?

What works in

- ignition mode 0 (Key docked)

- ignition mode I (Key docked, foot off the brake, press start/stop briefly)

- ignition mode II (Key docked, foot off the brake, press start/stop 2 seconds)

See this link for explanation of ignition modes https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic33506.html

Try to communicated with the ODB II when you get to ignition mode II

Good Luck

Paul

Temp gauge jumping hot / cold /hot /cold
