I don’t post much since I sold my 94 Range Rover LWB 110 like 8 years ago or so, but I still have a daily LR2 that’s starting to show its age.
Recently the nav screen on it doesn’t boot up and goes into an emergency Or screen. Sometimes it’s boots up into the Land Rover screen and gps menu. But more than half the time now it boots up into a all white with some text emergency os screen. See below
it’s a 100% factory LR2 with the alpine speakers. Radio works along with everything else. But just the screen is stuck on this. If I wait a day, the next morning it might be fine. After that maybe only. Someday it goes right into that screen. The dvd in the drive is OLD, like 2008 old. But we don’t use it for the nav anymore. I tooled the DVD out and it was a little dirty, but no improvement.
the main reason is at night now the screen is blinding white and when it does this and is distraction or borderline hazard.
Has anyone seen this before? Bad nav /dvd module on the way out?
Looks like you need a replacement nav computer (the one under the passenger seat). But that's just an educated guess, since the repair manual says exactly squat about nav computer errors.
