2008 LR2 no power after start. Recall?
I have a 08 lr2 HSE and this has happened 3 times. Right after starting up I will lose power. Step on the accelerator and it just crawls along. Eventually after a few minutes it will return to normal.
The incidents happened months apart and I thought they had something to do with moisture since the first episode was right after I washed it. The second was when I left for work on an extremely foggy day. But the third was last week and its winter.
This time I made the mistake of shutting it off and couldn't get it started again. Ended up draining the battery and couldn't jump start it.
I had it towed to the mechanic and two days later they jumped it and said it was working fine. They spent a couple hours testing, checked spark plugs, hosed it down with water and couldn't duplicate the problem.
One guy did mention seeing something about a recall related to software as one possibility but couldn't remember where he saw it. I'm wondering now if that is the problem.
I can't remember exactly what it was but something about the fob coming out and the vehicle not starting on the first try leaving some kind of bad pressure situation? This actually rings a bell because I think I may have had that happen before this last episode.
It's kind of fuzzy but I think it was something like I put the fob in and pressed the ignition so fast that it tried to start before I realized the fob didn't actually go in all the way.
It pops back out without turning over but now it's setup for this issue to occur.
I don't know if that's the problem. I've seen a lot of people with very similar issues and there's a lot of explanations like moisture and arcing spark plug connections etc.
Has anyone heard of this recall? I'm having trouble finding it.

Thanks I'll look for the recall. I've had a couple of error messages that don't seem to be related. P2402 and P2406. From what I've read they are fairly useless errors that can be fixed by replacing a canistor that doesn't need replacing. I mentioned them to the mechanic and he thought they were pretty much meaningless and everyone gets them.
I'll have to get the info on the error messages he found when I had it towed last week though because there were some. I can't remember which ones but he seemed confused by them given what had happened.
Even if my lr2 isn't covered under a recall at least I'd know what it was. I started being more careful about putting the fob in and making sure it's been accepted before starting. I am tempted to try and replicate the problem.
