2013 injectors
#11
quick question - what initiates fuel injector changeout - mileage / rough running? Are there any additives to run through the system to pro-long life / achieve better performance - I've always stayed clear of 'em - put them in the same category as snake oil but if anyone has any positive experience I am interested for sure.... type of treatment / frequency & volume of addition / etc.
Liqui-moly also seems to be good stuff, I've started using Ceratec on my higher-performance vehicles (including the LR2). There is plenty of discussion on the interwebs about liquimoly, but the folks who have the most to lose (Porsche, etc owners) have concluded it's legit.
In general I would assume that 99% of additives available are snake oil, unless proven otherwise. It took a lot of reading to sell me on liquimoly.

Before changing injectors, get yourself an inexpensive ultrasonic jewelry cleaner (preferably one with a heater) and some decent solvent. Remove the injectors and leave them overnight in the cleaner with enough solvent to cover them. More often than not this will dislodge whatever ails them and save you the cost of new injectors... and you can use it to clean other things too.
