Default Alarm /Remote starters

I have purchased 2008 LR2 SE and the same night I'm having random Alarm goin off. I don't see any messages on the screen and I double checked each door trunk and hood shut. Would I be able to disabled the alarm if locked the door manually or leave the doors unlocked until I go back to my dealer? I was told that many LR2 don't come with Remote starters and it's not recommended due to electrical problems. Any suggestions?

If you leave the doors unlocked, that should keep your alarm off until you get it repaired.

The problem might be your Hood Alarm Switch. You can perform a google search to find a video showing how to replace it.

Please post back and let us know the final resolution.

My guess is that the alarm goes on when the locks are on, but I don't know for sure. A simple test would be to roll down your drivers window so it is fully open, close the door and lock it manually with the key. Allow it to sit a few minutes. Then reach in through the open window and open the door from the inside. If the alarm is on, it will probably sound.

Good test. If you feel ambitious and want to try replacing the bonnet/hood switch yourself, this video might help:
