Fitted new battery this morning with no joy, still when I put the key fob in slot and press brake pedal there is no dash illumination when I push the start button the only thing that happens is you can hear the fuel pump prime .
the heater fan works , the radio comes on but goes off when you push starter , the hazard lights do not work or indicators.

 

Also steering lock does not unlock

 

Get someone to read the codes from the computer.

 

The plug for the computer hook up is dead as the dash illumination is.
I feel I should do a general Paton and shoot it

Well, sounds like you may have to get it towed to a dealer or mechanic who specializes on these. I can only think of weird causes, like maybe one of the plugs on the boxes behind the glove compartment came loose or something like that.
