Default Headlight not working intermittently

I have a 2009 LR2 with the lighting package which I think means it has the Xenon headlights. In the last few weeks, I noticed the the passenger headlight has changed color. Almost as if it has changed in color temperature, now it is a bit more of an amber tint. (see picture)

Last night, the light started not working intermittently. Sometime when I turn it on, it works, and others it doesn't. I noticed if I turn the lights on an off repeatedly, it will eventually come on. However, it will sometimes still turn back off while driving.

Does anyone know if this is just a symptom of this type of bulb going out? Or if this is a different problem all together?

The light on the left (passenger) is the one that is discolored and intermittently not working.

Usually when the color changes, it is a sign of the Arc Tube (bulb) going out. The intermittant nature could be the Arc Tube or the Igniter. Since your car takes D1S bulbs, the Arc Tube and Igniter are one piece. I'd replace them both, as color shifts with age, even when working properly.

Okay thanks for the info! Are you saying I should replace both driver and passenger side bulbs at the same time so they are the same color?

That is correct. Keep the old 'good" bulb as a spare.
