I replaced the switch but to jumper it just find the switch, then find the wires going to the switch. Remove the plastic electrical connector from the switch, probably have to press a tab on the connector. You might have to remove the switch to get the connector off, I don't recall.

Then bend a paperclip into a U-shape and stick both ends in the the two holes of the connector to make contact. IMPORTANT: Don't let the paperclip touch and metal on the car, that will blow a fuse or damage something. Thoroughly wrap the paperclip and connector with black electrical tape for insulation. May want to cut the paperclip before installation so it doesn't stick out too far.

Now test it, you should be able to lock the car with the hood open or closed. If not, try re-installing the paperclip.

You may need to secure the loose wire when you're done so it doesn't flop around.

CAUTION: It's now possible to drive with the hood unlatched without any dash warning, so you need to make sure you shut it before driving.

A bare paper clip is asking for trouble. Cut the connector off and splice the two wires together. Use a bit of shrink tubing and a heat gun to insulate the splice.

Yes that would be better.
