Not that hard, the VVT is oil powered, but electrically controlled.

For a given oil pressure you need X voltage to open the control solenoid far enough to achieve the desired timing.

Install a pressure sensor, then map control voltage vs. measured oil pressure. Probably need a third axis to cover a range of temperatures.

I'm pretty sure my Autel will provide estimated engine oil pressure?

Similar to how they map fuel delivery when tuning on a dyno.

But agree, a sensor and gauge would be nice.

Too many failure points. I prefer the switch.
