Default LR2 Blower fan suddenly stopped

Hey all,

I just had the Freon recharged in my 2010 LR2, and the blower fan just suddenly stopped. All the lights are still operating (dial/ AC etc.), but no fan.

I'm going to swap out the blower motor fuse to see if that does anything, although, would the lights come on if that fuse was blown?

That's the extent of my repair knowledge. Any thoughts of what this could be? Blower motor perhaps? Something else?

Thanks in advance!

The blower is a PIA to replace and will require a special tool to re and re......it's a chunk of work. I think you are the right track for troubling shooting and I would also try a hard battery reset which is described many time on this sub forum by @merlinj79 .

If none of those work, well, they are a few OBDII readers and software that can trouble shoot the HVAC system and reset it properly if required. JLR SDD does it with an "aftermarket" Mongoose cable.

Autel AP200 might or might not have the ability to read HVAC codes. It's cheap and a lot less cumbersome than SDD. I doubt a generic scan tool would, but if you have one might as well try it.

bet 0.02 its your blower control module…. they have an expected short life. Look at the worksop manual from any version of LR2. They will all apply.
Its an inexpensive part.

And easy to replace. Twist and pull out. Reverse to install. Left side of the blower, you may have to temporarily remove the electronic gas pedal to get to it.

Have similar heater blower motor not working in my 2013 LR2 HSE with 114k miles. Replaced both the 40amp fuse and the control module and blower motor still does not turn on. Full lights when manually increasing or decreasing fan speed. Also, fan does not come on when pushing the Max defrost button separately. Before looking to replace the blower itself (PIA). Is there a way besides paying a hefty diagnostic fee to absolutely make sure the blower motor needs to be replaced?

You already exhausted those options. Looks like the fan gave up the ghost. Get an OEM fan, the Chinese crap doesn't last very long before you have to do it again.

The blower control module is really tough to get to the on my 2010 LR2, even with the gas pedal out, the gas pedal housing ledge is in the way and it is bolted in all the way up and around the brake pedal connect - going to be tough.

Not only that, with only one hand able to get at the module, after looking at connectors online, pretty sure the two sharp clamps on either side have to squeeze together while pulling. They seem sharp in the cool air. Some insulation will have to get cut away once the harness is out.

Id rather not try to twist the module out while the harness is attached, again toughest thing is- I cannot get 2 hands up there while lying half out the door.

thx
