Oil Pan Gasket Replacement

Oil Pan Gasket Replacement
Recently, in addition to a turbe failure (P0299), our 2013 LR2 (2.0l Turbo engine) was diagnosed with a leaking oil pan gasket. 110k miles, I'm not surprised at an oil leak, but a $1278 estimate for the replacement (or reseal as listed on the estimate) was quite a shock. Since the vehicle is in the shop for the turbo repair, I am trying to research replacement of the gasket, but can't find anything beyond an oil change video. Anyone know why the cost is so high for what seems to be a simple repair, and also can anyone point me to a replacement procedure I could follow?
Thanks!!

That's probably mostly labor. Removing the oil pan requires:
1. Remove the cover and disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the starter motor.
4. Remove the lubricant drain plug.
5. Disconnect the oil level sensor electrical connector
6. Release the coolant rail.
7. Remove the dipstick tube.
8. Remove the intake manifold lower bolts.
9. Remove the 2 sump to gearbox bolts.
10. Remove the 34 oil pan bolts.
And finally you get to the gasket. Best you can do is look for alternate quotes.
