Freelander 2 Remote battery change
The two remotes for my Freelander 2 were becoming unreliable. These are the rechargeable type of remote, they are sealed and when the battery is past its working life you are expected to pay for a replacement remote.
I purchased a replacement rechargeable button cell on the internet via Amazon, they are advertised as Freelander 2 remote battery.
I split open the case using a sharp craft knife. You need to be patient and make sure that you cut all around the outside. There is a joint inside that is hard to reach but it can be done, believe me.
I then removed the battery, two soldered tags. You will need to carefully remove solder to expose the holes in the PCB and insert the replacement battery and re-solder.
I glued the fob together with superglue, it worked well.
I have an image but do not know how to insert it.
