Check the wiring going to the coil.

It is possible that a small quadrupedal mammal has taken an interest in your wiring.

I can't be more specific about the species in question because someone here will have an adverse reaction.

Good Luck

PS there is some evidence that a failed Thermostat can increase the temperature of the coils and shorten their life. A broken Thermostat on a 3.2 is difficult to detect.

P0302 is a generic code, it's likely the plug or the coil for that cylinder. Try what Thor suggested to narrow it down.

Assuming you chose the iCarSoft analyzer with the Jaguar/Land Rover option, you should be able to select that diagnostic and it will talk to the various modules in the car.

If you did not buy the right analyzer I would suggest returning it and buying the one that comes with the Jaguar/Land Rover diagnostics. It is a HUGE help compared to the garden variety OBDII codes.

Amazon Amazon

Also, when you get it go to the icarsoft website, download their application to your PC, connect your unit via USB and update it to the latest version of the diagnostic software.

Default 2008 LR2 #2 cylinder misfire

Hi Guys!
Ok I decided to replace all the plugs since they were ready 75,000 and install a new # 2 coil pak. Fully charged the battery. Cleared all faults started it up and no faults and running better then new! I got lucky. Thankyou both for your input and professional advise.

Yeah I do plugs around 60-70K now. I did all my coil packs at 150K, just for road trip reliability.

Good idea do you prefer a specific brand coil pak? What about the pcv valve is it a good idea to replace it ? Thanks again
