Suspension overhaul
Picked up a full set of new Bilstein B4's and a new AC compressor to replace a very noisy one. Not a bad deal, $746.96 including shipping from CarID.

You're lucky to have a mechanic who will install customer-supplied parts. Most of the shops in my town won't do that. I suppose I could try to negotiate to waive the warranty on their work, but I think they want the margin on the parts and would probably turn me down.
I have also spent thousands with him, never argue a bill for any reason, and have sent him countless referrals due to their outstanding work and they have a rare 5-star review history on Yelp. They are so popular that their backlog means I have to wait until June 3 to get these installed and they will provide me with a loaner car while mine is in the shop. You just can't beat this kind of service. Accel Automotive, Waltham MA. Also, if you have an Alfa Romeo, John's shop is the place to go. The shop is owned by a former Alpha Romeo dealer shop team.
