New to the forum here...I just picked up a 2009 LR2 HSE with 85,000miles on the clock. It seems great and got a clean bill of health. One thing that I wonder about is a slight whine fron the transmission when accelerating in frist gear, after the shift to second gear things quiten down.

Is this normal for the LR2 or something I should be concerned about?

Change fluid and filter, and see if that quiets it even more.

 

Any fault codes showing on the dash?
Have the tranny serviced, make sure you put the correct fluid back in cause I think they use something other the the standard ATF.

 

Thanks for the input. There are no fault codes, the owners manual says fluid change at 150k miles. I called the dealer and sure enough that's it. They do not list a filter for it either?? Anyway I plan to get the fluid checked to see if it makes a difference.
