I removed my driver’s door card to repair door handle operation. The problem was simple to fix: the main cable was disconnected and that made the inside door handle inoperative. All I had to do was reconnect it. There were two electrical connectors, but only one had a connection on the door card. There is no other connection that I can see. I reassembled the door card and everything seems to work properly: door locks, door handles, mirror adjustments are all good. What is this “extra” connector? What is this? —Inside 2008 LR2 driver’s door

Looks like you disconnected your rear view mirror. Does it still work and does that dash still display OAT (Outside Air Temperature)?
Are the wire colors green with orange stripe and grey with orange stripe? If so that looks like the connector for the tweeter on the door up by where the mirror mounts. Depending on your audio system that tweeter may not be there.
