Won't start back up after short drive
2008 LR2 with 150k miles. Starts up just fine and drive a few miles to hardware store and when I come back out and start it she won't make a noise. No click or anything until a battery cable short reset is done. I had a bad stater and replaced it as well as a new battery. Are the ecu's problematic on these vehicles?

I don't recall hearing about ECU issues. The car is very sensitive to voltage fluctuations on startup due to a weak battery or a bad connection.
Even a new battery or alternator could be bad.
Ge the battery load tested. Check the big wire connections and any grounds you can find. Check the alternator connections.
After that, you might have a bad alternator. These days anything aftermarket is suspect.

So many possibilities! Turn on your headlights and AC blower fan - to check you have good power available - then turn off. Try second key in case first is not recognized - I know you just used it but these things happen. Try starting in neutral. May have a park switch not making contact. Jiggle shift lever while pressing brake and trying to start. Also brake switch may not be making contact. If absolutely no noise when trying to start it could be the start relay - not the start solenoid. Check for LR specific codes, not OBD - this should be done first if you have the reader that will do it. ...

From my experience there are two kinds of problems with the bulletproof ECU's in these cars.
1. Moisture gets in them and corrosion damages things.
2. Connectors get loose and need to be reseated, particularly with long legged passengers.
The ECU may have failed but it rarely happens without some major external contributing factor.
