I would check the large fuse at the front of the battery box and attached to the red wire. If its blown, check large red cable going to starter

Thanks KeI for the suggestion.

Went out tonight between rain storms and jumper-ed the relay for starter.

Battery fully charged at 13.3V and 100% as indicated on my charger.
Turned key to run position.
Inserted jumper and engine turned over but did NOT start.

Good news: starter circuit works.
Bad news: still wont run/start.

Battery voltage did drop down to 12.0V after cranking engine.

Think I will jump the LR3 tomorrow with my TDI Touareg, see if that makes a difference.

Thanks again!
I'm still under the strong impression a module on the HS CAN is thwarting communication.

I must have read this thread a dozen times, exact problem demonstrated by my LR3:
https://landroverforums.com/forum/lr...c-68336/page5/

Thought the swapping of relays would have sorted my issue.
Nothing.

Would a failing e-brake module prevent the vehicle from starting?

E-brake is not locked on. If vehicle is put into neutral (flipping lever under counsel) rolls freely.

Ok, some initial good news!
Got it started yesterday (10/28)/!!!!
Jumper-ed the starter relay and jumped the LR3 with the Touareg.
It started, codes and everything else wrong but ran and sounded great.....just glad the engine wasn't shot.

So today (10/29) I purchase a NEW Bosch battery and installed it.
Tuned the key nothing!
Next, jumper-ed starter relay just as I did yesterday. Engine turned over but would not start. SOB
Put jumper cables to my car (not Touareg), jumped the starter relay....turns over but wont start.

What gives?
Only difference was a new battery and different jumper vehicle.
Lr3 should have started.
I'm somewhat stumped.

Yes, new battery was fully charged when installed.

Then sounds like a connection that was moved when changing the battery. Have you checked the connector behind the battery box?

The Negative ground cable from battery to chassis is known to fail. I had one that visually checked out. Ended up diagnosing as bad PCM, bought new one for ridiculous amount of $, coded to vehicle and still had the problem. Changed the ground cable out of frustration, bam, that was it.

Yes, checked the large connectors behind the battery.
Fully connected and no signs of oxidation on contacts.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Ouch, guessing the PCM and re-flash may have been a few bucks....sorry to hear. frustrating

Thanks for your suggestion.
Only had a few minutes tonight so took my jumper cables and connected both cables to the negative of the battery and chassis.
No luck!

Engine turns fast enough to start (jumped the starter relay)
Just wont fire.

Will look more closely at the ground when time permits.

Again, thanks all who have responded!
I'm determined to get her running.
