Default 2004 LR3 needs rescued. Opinions?

Hey guys I came across this 2004 LR3 today. It’s at a local Chevy dealer for $4400. They have a note on it saying “last chance before it goes to auction”. It’s got 138k miles on it. It’s a V8 SE and the body is rust free and the leather interior is excellent. I’m having thoughts of rescuing her from this place just not sure if it’s a good price or not. The Carfax is pretty clean. 2 owners and the first owner had it for over 16 years. Are these engines decent? What do you think?

Price wise if it’s a good runner and not to rusty underneath it’s a good buy for a Discovery 2

Well I feel like a dummy thanks for the heads up. I'll move this to the disco 2 section.

2004 is the most sought after year as they put the diff lock back in. I believe these have 4 wheel traction control as well. Looks like it has a lift and the roof rack is worth quite a bit. Would be a good offroad vehicle. Several in my club.

Late 02 in the D2a the centre diff lock was reinstated, pretty sure all D2's have 4 channel TC.

What was the first year for D2? I know the P38 Range Rover only got 4 wheel TC in 99.

If the underside is not rusted and falling off I would grab that at that price.
