2005 LR3 driver seat stuck!
Dealer tells me that the gear assembly for the power driver seat is broken and needs replacing! They tell me it is a part of the "seat pan" and it will cost $900- $1100 to repair!!!! just so we can move the seat again? I need another professional opinion, and if it is the seat pan can I find a used or salvage one somewhere? Only found one new one online for over $600. Love our LR3 but cant afford $1000+ dealer repair every time there is any issue. Where can I find a good manual for 2005 LR3 HE? Can anyone HELP!

see attached pages from the manual.
Also I have posted a link to a web site that allows you to download the whole manual for free, it is very large.

As for salvage yards, the LR3 is unlikely to be in most yards as the value would make it a rebuildable wreck. But if it was in normal DIY yard a whole seat is like $28. You want to buy a seat that is ripped up (so it will be cheap) and swap the parts.
If it is the parts. Those motors have thermal limit kick outs.
One work around on some seats is to disconnect the motor and attach a drill motor to the flex cable and "drive" it to a comfortable position to be left in.

Another possibility might be a seat swap. My D1 had rough looking driver seat, and so did everyone else in the boneyard. So I got a good passenger seat and it swapped just fine, connectors were the same, etc. The lumbar adjust **** just cleared the door post. There are also dismantlers that post on this site, like Paul Grant. They make a business out of parting them out, they sell what is still good and recycle the rest. Don't know if he has many LR3s yet.
