Default 2006 LR3 No Start

Need Help! I have a 2006 LR3 that has been a great car until 2 days ago.... It has 122k miles on it, fuel level sender went bad a few months ago and i have been very careful to watch mileage and fill up well before I ran empty. The other day i had a brain fart and ran it out of gas. a buddy brought me week old gas by the side of the road, it was only around 3 gallons and the car started up right away. I drove about 2 miles and the car died while it was driving as if i had ran out of gas again. scanned with my IID tool, no codes except for a rain sensor code and my fuel sender #2 code. I trailered it home and put 5 gallons of new gas in it and tried to start. no go. much to my dismay i could not find a schrader valve on the fuel rail to check pressure so I took the supply fitting off of the drivers side fuel rail and turned the key on to see if there was any fuel being pumped to the rail. fuel squirted out and got all over everything. I re-seated fuel fitting and tried to start again. no go. by this time the battery was run down to under 10v so i charged overnight. Car had been working flawlessly until it ran out of gas. I wanted to check for spark so I squirted some starting fluid in the intake and it fired until the starting fluid was used up. I don't have the necessary fittings and hose to rig my fuel pressure gauge up to the o-ringed supply fitting to check pump pressure. I plan on getting the supplies and checking this weekend but due to the volume of fuel that squirted out when I had the fitting off of the rail it seems like it would have plenty of pressure for the vehicle to run. what is the minimum amount of fuel pressure required? any other ideas? This is my main vehicle and I need it and its good fuel mileage back up asap! My old highboy is costing an arm and a leg to drive!

check out the harbor freight kit.

Fitting at the bottom should work.

Pressure should be 65 PSI at pump and rail.

Purchased this kit today and read 70 PSI upon key on and crank. still no start. I have maf signal, crank position signal, not sure if the throttle valve is working correctly as it is making a funny noise when key on.

Sure sounds like it. Have you tried jumping it?

SDHPHOTO, I have a similar issue to the one you had, I think. Vehicle no longer starts after running out of gas. I have posted a lengthy explanation in another thread on this forum yesterday, hoping for some advice. In doing further research, I came across your posting.

What was the root cause of your issue? How did you fix it?
