Default 2006 LR3 notchy, binding steering

Hey everyone....I have a 2006 LR3 with 116,000 miles on it my steering became very notchy, I've been told that it's probably the lower steering shaft, I cleaned and lubed the u-joint, it seems like it got a little better, but what I've realized is that the notchiness happens after driving for a while, and doesn't happen while the car is stopped and wheel is turned, ps fluid looks fine, the ps pump is not making any noises and the belt seems tight....I figured if it was the u-joint on the lower steering shaft it might get better with driving for a while, but it's the other way around....very confused....any suggestions?????

You are more likely to get an answer if you post on the LR3 forum. But it sounds like you need a steering rack.
