Not in my opinion. Set the money aside in a "repair" fund, and you might end up money ahead, particularly if you don't have too many bigger issues.

 

I like the above suggestion because most people never get their money's worth. Its great when something like a blown strut or suspension compressor is "covered" and all you pay is a $100 deductible (if any), but when you pay $3,000 for the warranty, you don't come close to it being "worth it".
