Default 33's on a LR3

Has anyone managed to get 33" tires on their LR3? Did you have to make any gearing changes? I'm wanting to run a set of BFG MT's. The 18's are all 33"tall and trying to find LR wheels to fit the 32"x17's is nearly impossible.

There may be rubbing at full lock on some inner plastic. Get a set of Johnson Rods for a bit of lift and you'll be fine.

A true 33 will be a tight fit with the J rods.
32s look perfect with the J Rod lift.

Default Becomes a skid steer with no air.

Almost with 32", and for certain with 33", when the air suspension fails and you drop, the 33" hang in the wheel wells and well, the tyres do not rotate. This normally occurs when bogged in mud just to sort of double the fun.

Two good threads to learn from those who have already tried.

well. i have a set of 32.6 goodyear duratracs on my 05 lr3, I posted some piks of it the other day, check it out, silver 05 under nelson1. they have an extra inch of offset. i think it looks badass in my opinion. However if im gonna b doing some major wheeling i use my smaller ones. Im gonna go a bit smaller when its time for new tread. if u wanna run 33's and ur planning on putting in springs i would suggest more than 3 inches of lift ur gonna need it, if u dont wanna rub, and get serious with off roading.... even with rods 33's wont fit, iv tried. I use mine strictly for snow (most the time) so i love them. if thats the case go for it, but even with the lift it wont help much in the mud or trying to do some more extreme crawling. There for sale i have a set of 5 w/ black steel 18's w/ about 80% tread. Check out the pix. you will deffinetley like the looks you get out of them, i guarantee that. i paid just over 4k not sure were ur located but if ur interested let me know. maybe we can work something out, and save u some money...the duratracs though is what i would suggest for tires. they have been nothing but awesome for me, just got done elk hunting and we deffinetley put them to the test and have been for a while now, they are what i would recommend to anyone looking for good tires! check out the pix if ur wondering what it would look like, these are 32.6's and the 33's are substantially bigger than these....happy roving

I am just curious you do realize nothing will work after the conversion, the locking diffs, the locking center transfercase, the faults on the vehicle. Plus the wheels will damage everything else. Why not learn how to actually drive your vehicle before wasting money. Its not a defender or a jeep wrangler. It has the ability to do much more then you think it does. Most guys that do this kinda repair damage everything else and complain that they don't have the money to fix anything.

Ok, we'll all my lockers and sensors all still work, however u will prolly wipe out some things doing this to your ride, and rovin4, is correct ur gonna pay the price in maintenance to bushings, wheel bearings, etc. my recommendation to u after doin this to mine is not to... unless u now how to work and fix ur own car and like doing it alot.....I use these tires and rims strictly for snow, pavement, and light offroading, I'm in the snow close to seventy times a season wich is why I did it... they truly won't b what ur looking for in extreme climbing and wheeling, they just won't fit into the wheel wells... They will take away capabilities from ur car. If u want looks than by all means. Yes, all the pics are w the 32.6 and no even w rods u can't go bigger....my suggestion if I did it again would be... A smaller tire possibly 31 and no more offset than 1/8 inch. So again I don't recommend doing this it will hinder ur vehicle substantially for extreme wheeln. The specs I can't remember but truthfully don't wanna take anyone's business away from the people that helped me get them.... I could tell u but I think that b kind of a dik move on my part. But i will tell u, I had help from lucky 8 w finding the wheels an they can help u get any special wheel size or at least they could when I got mine. I had about a three month wait though, they had a hard time getting the wheel centers made. I'm sure w some hard searching u can find them online. Anyways good luck w your builds.
