Acceleration Bug (Not California Stop)
Only had my 06 LR3 for about a month now - this has happened to me twice in the last day - at a low speed of 5-10 mph, I push the pedal down, the car accelerates properly for 1-2 sec, then the rpm drops down to idle, the car coasts for another 1-2 sec, and the rpm instantly jumps back up and I'm on my merry way. The whole time I have the pedal in the same position, and I don't get any warning lights, messages, or codes thrown. What's the deal? I don't think it's the California Stop bug as the car accelerates properly for a second or two before having the issue. It also seems like a software issue as it doesn't sound like the engine is bogging down, there's no grinding noises, the car just acts like I've pulled off the accelerator and then gone back on. It's not every time, in fact the first time it happened so quickly I thought I imagined it. The second time the lag was more like 2-3 seconds. Help!
I saw on Facebook someone mentioned the stoplight switch.
i usually laugh because that is the go to fix on Facebook for everything from headlight bulb out to blown head gasket, but his theory sounds solid.
before that, clean the throttle body, maybe it’s sticking. Then if that doesnt work change the switch.
In the end you might need to change the throttle body, I’ve heard of it happening.
You should invest in a GAP tool. Even though no codes on the dash, it might have a code stored that can pinpoint the source.

I just tried to gas my vehicle with the brake pedal engaged, no problem. But who knows. Just buy the GAP regardless. Their customer service is insane. They got me out of a bind my $15K Autologic with $2K a year service contract could not.
Same. You'd think they -would- have put a safeguard in place for that. Oh well. I've got my finger on the trigger for the GAP right now. The only thing that gives me pause is that I already have the iCarSoft, which will basically become a doorstop compared to the functionality of the GAP, including the fact that it's also VIN-locked so I can't sell it...
