Default Air suspension frozen, no warning lights

2005 LR3, 138,000 miles. The manual height adjustment switch is inoperable, no lights or vehicle response. The terrain control dial lights work as expected and I can see the correct symbol on the info screen but no corresponding height adjustment from the vehicle and no noise from the air compressor. It seems to be frozen at normal height without any warning dash lights or chimes.

The LR3 is new-to-me (I will pick it up tomorrow). From what I am reading, I'm thinking either the consul switch is bad or there has been a chronic issue with the air suspension that was ignored by a PO and the computer "locked" it to prevent damage (but why no dash warning?)

. Would this ~$500 GAP tool I am reading about be able to "unlock" the system and/or provide some direction as to the cause? Other ideas?

- an excited (and a bit terrified) new LR3 owner

If the console height switch is not lit at all, you have an issue with the system. There would be a corresponding light on the dash, yellow or red, to indicate a fault. And there would normally be a message on the info center in the cluster. I think only rock-crawl will cause the truck to raise when selecting that program, assuming you are in low-range.

Or... are you sure you ave have air suspension? It could have been converted to coils with an EAS module installed to prevent faults.

Finally had a chance to crawl under the LR3....it already has a coil conversion! What the small car dealer and I thought was an airline was actually a brake line. I am actually relieved because coils suit my needs very well. This will be a daily driver-mostly on paved roads with occasional weekends on unimproved trails to hiking trailheads and the like. Extreme rock crawling is not my jam. It all makes sense now. Thanks for pointing out that as a possibility!

At least it is a really good conversion kit! Atlantic British knows their stuff!
