I started to get rapid flashing on my left turn signal this morning. When I got to work I put on the left blinker, it flashed rapidly, then started to blink normal before I could even get out of the car to check which bulb was out. All three were working. Thinking this was very strange, I shut them off and turned them back on. This time it was rapid flashing and all three (front, back and door) were out. I also tried the hazard switch and the rights worked, left did not. I suspect of the multifunction switch, but don’t want to mess with replacing it if I’m wrong!

Has anyone else had this issue?

 

After scanning with my GapTool, I had an error for a short in the left turn signal circuit that turned out to be just the rear bulb. The weird thing was that as I was tracking this down all the bulbs would randomly (infrequently) work. So it wasn't that the bulb burned out, it developed a short. It was not a Lucas bulb which may have been the cause of the weird symptom, it wouldn't be the first time!
