Any ideas of what this noise could be from?
Hello All
Hopefully this link works for the 2 minute video
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lqz...usp=share_link
If not hopefully someone will let me know and I will do some reading on how to post a video properly.
Yup a bit frustrated but as always I will persevere.
I just spent all of my spare time over the last two weeks replacing front control arms and while I had in my warm garage I did plugs and wires.
I pulled it out yesterday and the engine sounded great.
This morning I went to move it to shovel the driveway and it now has this new noise.. seems mid top center.. Maybe a bit louder on the Drivers side. But it's cold and I am frustrated.
So all to say, a little crowd sourcing here just in case anyone has an idea of where my precious disco has failed me or perhaps I failed my disco
Thanks in advance for taking some of your time to listen and hopefully be able to point out to me where/what is causing this noise.
Scott

Maybe, but when I run it and rev it a bit with and without the tail pipe plugged it does not change it's tone
Should it not change pitch with the increase in back pressure?
new short video

update
Definitely not exhaust... I have had many say that it is likely the timing chain cartridge on the passenger side.. I am currently about 80 % done getting the engine out. I will know for sure in a day or two. Meanwhile thanks to some other threads here on approaches to getting the engine out without removing the body. Yes I would have loved to pull the body to do this but my garage does not have enough high.
Having fun
