Default Changed some fluids now about to do ATF?

2006 lr3 Hse with 4.4l

Was getting a whine in front end, changed the front and rear differential fluid with Royal Purple, wow what a change. Front differential has no whine at all, I had the whine since I bought the car in 2008. I am in no way connected to royal pure, just a fan. Amazing what a good fluid does. Emailed them and asked what fluids would work for lr3.
Used.

Front Differential: Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-90 (part #01300, quart bottle); 0.65 quarts;

Rear Differential: Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-90 (part #01300, quart bottle); 1.15 quarts;

Transfer case. Royal purple synchromax.

So now I need to change transmission fluid. I know land rover calls for the shell stuff. I used the royal pure synchromax in the transfer case. Spoke to a certified land rover shop and they say that they use different other sytnthetics. They said any of the major full synthetic atfs mobil 1, castrol, royal purple, wolfhead, pentosin, all have special additives, should no have an issue with any of them. I have 68k miles on odometer, so out of warranty. Plan on keeping lr3 past 100k. Seeing what royal purple did in the differentials I am tempted to try their ATF. What u guys think?

Here are shop manual pages on it. Anything fresh synthetic is better than leaving it in for ten years like Rover says to do.

I have used several different synthetic ATFs. Most preform about the same. I prefer BG Universal(hard to source for a consumer) but it seems to have the best shifting out of everything I've used, including the factory stuff.

Also, before you change out the fluid, check for a leak at the electrical connector. Most syn ATFs have mild detergents, that can cause a leak like this to actually get worse if left unattended, and fresh clean fluid is introduced.

At shop for bg. They don't want to change transmission fluid, says its not spec land rover fluid. How did you get bg flush to do work on yours.??

Have them show you the list of compatible fluids. There is a part number in the land rover section that is the part number they use in Europe. Liter bottles instead of quarts.
TYK500050

I checked this at a local shop with a bg machine.

Just thought I would throw in my quote from the dealer. $450 for a transmission flush on the LR3. $1500 for engine oil service, transmission, and differentials. Cha Ching.
