Compressor R&R Advice sought
#22
Okay....done; piece of cake, really. That one top bolt is a pain in the neck, but other than that pretty easy to do. We completed the job in 2 hours, including slotting the bracket and having to drill through a broken mounting bolt (compressor to bracket) that sheared in the removal process. Thanks all for the tips....
...next question: if I wanted to rebuild or otherwise restore this old compressor, what would I be looking to do? The air dryer is fairly new (maybe a year or 2 old).

If it's not too far gone, there are rebuild kits available. But I don't have a rec for which company's kit to use as I haven't done it myself. I do have a couple old ones sitting around I'd like to rebuild myself if you guys have recommendations to share.
I know cheap kits are all over ebay and amazon, but who knows about their quality - not me at least.... In some searching I've come across 4x4airseals.com which looks like a reputable site with everything one could possibly need, but shipping would be from the UK.

Cool....ordered the X8R kit; hopefully I don't break things while I "rebuild" the compressor. It would be good to have a backup. If I had to go from AMK back to Hitachi (on my '05) I assume there is an analogous software update that I can do with the GAP....is that correct?
