Should I use a OEM from land rover or other cheap kind if I'm replacing one?

 

Cool packs? Do you mean coil packs? What engine? I know the 4.4 does not have coil packs.

 

You mean the 4.0 doesn’t have coil packs?

 

Pretty sure I said 4.4. No clue on what engine the question pertains to.

 

Didn’t mean to be rude, but the 4.4 does have coil packs (unless I’m confusing my engines, but don’t think I am). I had to replace one after I was changing the plugs and the coil pack tip broke off and stuck on the end of the plug.

The 4.4 does not have coil packs, its has the COP setup. Coil-On-Plug. Individual coils, not a pack. A coil pack consists of two or more coils that are triggered to fire and the spark is usually on a spark plug wire - the 4.4 also has no spark plug wires.

 

I guess I’ve always referred to those “coil on plugs” as “coil packs”, and I believe many others do as well (whether right or wrong). Understand there are no plug wires per se as I haven’t seen a car with an actual distributor in a long long time.
