I did a reset and it was crap for a few days but then settled down, i use a local Penrite product developed for the ZF6-9. I know a few others including indies that use it as its 1/3 the cost of LG6.
Box has 187k klms on it and the previous one owner had the fluid and filter/pan done at about 120k, never used offroad and never towed more than a motorbike trailer, my symptoms lead me to believe that a sonnax zip kit plus mechatronic sleeve and other seals will help most of this.

Hey Loanrangie I know this is an old post, hoping you are still onboard. Did you ever install a Sonnax zip kit to solve your 2 to 1 transmission coastdown bump?? I have a 2006 RR Sport which shifts well except for the dreaded 2 to 1 thump driving me crazy. My Rangie has done 260000km. My research tells me Sonnax or Transgro shift kits and bridge seal etc will help but not spoken to anyone who has actually tried the kits on a ZF6HP26. I am based in country Victoria

Certainly did in April this year, sonnax kit,new solenoids and separator plate and its like a new trans. Cured all the issues i had with poor and erratic shifting and going into limp mode at the slightest amount of load.

Thanks for the response! Assume you also have the zf6hp26 trans in your D3? Was the kit the standard zip kit incl new accumulators and end caps. Did you have to do any reaming of the valve body? I have been told need to ream out the solenoid pressure regulator valve. Would appreciate some guidance on where you sourced the kit, solenoids and seperator plate etc if possible. Thanks Nick

Yes the standard kit, if your bores are good then no need to ream as the new plungers have o-rings where the originals don't.
I got the kit from Alltranz in Thomastown and separator plate and solenoids off ebay.
