Electrical issues with the brakes
Hi!
I have an electrical issue in the "new to us" LR3. With the lights ON, while depressing the brake pedal, the lights on the rear LH (drivers side) tail lamp will go off. With the lights off, the brake light works as expected. The RH side works normally as it should.
I have been studying the electrical diagrams and I think it is (maybe) a problem of a harness cross connection with the stop light switch wiring (the famous one) and the feed for the rear lights.
Can somebody show the location of the junction points SJ813, SJ814 and SJ20?. I have been trying to find a manual/document with the locations of every electrical connector, RAVE style for those familiar with the DIsco2, but have been unsuccessful. Does anybody know if this exists for the LR3/Disco3 and where it can be accessed?
I see that the SJ814 also does provide some feedback to the MS CAN bus (D162) so I think this could be the issue related to the random transmission fault (limited gears available) that I'm also experiencing.
Thanks!!!

SJ813 may be a grounding lug with a 4 green and purple wires. It is located behind the left rear trim panel and is most likely accessible through the removable panel and is 1.5 meters from Connector C0121 (LH brake light).
SJ814 may be a grounding lug with 7 green and purple wires. It is located behind the right rear trim panel most likely accessible though the removable panel and is 1.5 meters from connector C0125 (RH brake light).
I am attaching a pdf that has connector locations but does not show grounding or splices. It is a bit busy but if you spend some time with it, you will find what you are looking for.
The takeaway from all of this is JS813 or SJ814 are only 1.5 meters from the tail light, which is not very far into the body of the car when you take into account all the slack built into the harness.
Hope that helps

Update! Thanks everybody!
Dakota, I did check the light bulb (was the first thing after reading all the posts in the forums). Bulb is fine, tested. Also the socket is clean and good. Brand new brake light switch from Atlantic British also installed, Loanrangie! Gordo51, screenshot from the LR3 wiring diagram, page 168. I will dig deeper. Given that the trailer socket also comes from nearby that bundle, will look in there also. TBC!

Our family has a fleet of 5 L319's ranging from 2005 to 2014, both the LR3 and LR4 versions. I have found that this picture is accurate 95% of the time that I look for a connector. And in the 5% that is is not, it gets me in the general location.
