Default Experience with Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice Plus Snow Tires?

As per the subject, asking about this specific tire because all of the "reviews" I've found online are basically from sites that just recycle information, or a couple reviews of the non-SUV version, and that's about it.

Seems like Nokians, Blizzaks, X-Ice, Yokohoma, Pirelli, and a few others get all the limelight, and if I go with a brand new tire might go that direction but, for now I'm looking into these Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice Plus.

There is a set on craigslist listed locally at $400 with about 20k miles on them (rated to 60k+) and I'm considering them as an entry into at least this first winter tire season.

Anyone out there run these?

EDIT: I have a 2008 LR3, non-HD, live in the mountains of Montana, generally around town during the week but doing trips to the mountain most weekends with the occasional road trip. Includes interstate driving that can be icy, as well as two lane roads with both packed or fresh snow; and sometimes all three.

I do not run these; nor have I.

Editorial: If you buy these tires with 20k on them, it's really a Crapshoot. Not only because you don't have data on this tire, but also they are already halfway or more worn out. You also don't know if the seller took care not to drive them above 45F or how well aligned the previous rig was. So they may get you through this winter, but they won't answer your question of whether or not it's a good tire. I have opinions on some other options, but I didn't want to sway your thread in a different direction. I can if you'd like, but the answer to your actual question is that I haven't run those Goodyears.

I also gave opinions of some of the other brands.. I’ve previously had studded tires but nowdays have traction AT tires all year round. I’m in Finland, so Montana winters are fairly close to what we have in parts of the country.

You may get 20k out of that set with the heavy LR3. They eat up tires a little quicker. But if only using in winter, that's not an issue as you will get years out of them.

I use Nokian Rotiiva AT and have never come close to getting stuck and barely spin the wheels in multiple New England winters. Including being out on the road in blizzards

They're an AT tire but also have the snow/ice rating snowflake
