Default Ford vs V6 LR3 Harmonic Balancer Compatibility, Plus Tips for Fan Clutch

I'm hoping someone has had some experience replacing the harmonic balancer in the V6, the main thing is I'd like to have her up and running today. I can get the harmonic balancer for the ford version today, the land rover stamped version isn't even available for order at major parts houses.

Also for anybody reading this, contrary to the V8, you do in fact turn the fan nut counter clockwise.

I took a chance and spent 100 for the Ford harmonic balancer rather than 300 for the one with that beautiful Land Rover tag on it that wouldn't have been delivered til Friday.

Fit like a dream and saved my work vehicle from being out of commision for more than 12 hours! I highly recommend.

To add some context, mine shattered in a residential neighborhood. Thankfully I was not on the interstate. It tore apart my belt as well, but in all a minor annoyance. First time she's been on a flatbed in 50k miles.

I'm glad it did as well. Next project is the transmission wire harness that just started leaking, I've sealed and refilled it for now. Next time it starts to leak I'll put the steel tranny pan on and replace all the rubber nipples.

Thanks for posting this. My harmonic balancer came off and was just laying there. Car was still running with the belt on the rubber. Only slight squeel at start up. No codes ran like that for a month.

Was there anyneed to remove the starter to hold the flywheel when taking off the crankshaft pulley bolt?

Sorry for the late reply, I did not have to do that, although getting the pulley bolt off took every trick a mechanic has ever bestowed upon me.
