I was wrong, it was the circle with the exclamation sign, the 4ETC (engagement of traction control) light. It was doing it again today whenever I took a harder left hand turn on on-ramps on the freeway. What would cause that? thanks phil

 

Hubs certainly can. The ABS pickup teeth essentially become loose with the hub, so when the hub gets out of alignment do to being loose itself, the sensor gets faulty readings.

 

Phil, what makes you think this isn't totally normal?

What else could cause it are: slippery pavement, tires that are starting to wear out and your right foot! More specifically the interaction between those three things.

 

My traction control has gone though various level of over sensitivity though the years. Wheel alignments (and steering angle reset) sometimes have a + or - effect.

 

When taking left-hand turns on the freeway and on mountain roads, I noticed a dragging from the front left wheel. The first time I noticed it we were driving around 35 mph on a mountain road, turning to the left. I wasn't hot rodding, it is a LR3 after all. I noticed the light come on once I got back to San Diego and was on a freeway left-hand transition. I have since changed out the lower control arms, sway bar links and sway bar bushings, then had it aligned. Still seems to be dragging on some left-hand turns. We have owned the truck for 8 years and have put 70k miles on it. I never noticed anything like this before. I have driven these same roads/freeways and my driving habits haven't changed. Phil
