Front right diff tube leak

Front right diff tube leak
Last time I changed my oil(mid month) I noticed a leak from the front right diff tube. It wasn't noticeable prior change. Is this something that can wait or should I jump on this? Is this a difficult job requiring specialty tools that can't be borrowed from AutoZone? $700 dealer job? This is on an 06 LR3 4.4
Also, I've always had this "ghostly" sound...almost like a prison fart, is another way I could describe it....coming from the front end....barely noticeable with the radio off going 25mph ish. Is this a sign of a bad front end? I hear the front ends on these things are week. How will I know when it's bad? Grinding? A loud explosion followed by the screams of my overly sensitive kids in the back?

Don't let the oil leak out of your diffs, it doesn't hold much. Don't let it get to bad, as it will not be exchangeable.
No based on the picture, the issue is with your CV / shafts, not the diff.
Here is a better picture of the diff. http:// www. disco3. co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?album=21912&pos=16
How would you know what a prison fart sounds like? This sounds like the blend door, it's a common problem, and will eventually need to be replaced. It was about a 500 job at the dealer, requiring them to remove much of the dash. Ask them not to break your ashtray when they remove it, like they did mine.
