Default Fuel Additives

I have always added fuel additives to my vehicles. The LR Manual says not to use anything but LR's fuel cleaner. Has anyone tried any other type of cleaner or have any suggestions? Not that it is the cost, but the access to purchasethe cleaner is more difficult.

I never understood the necessity of using fuel additives (unless you live in a 3rd world country or drivea diesel in cold climate). Why??

Why?? That is a good question. I have always done it if for nothing else peice of mind. I assume they have worked due to the vehicles that I used them in never had any fuel related issues. I just want to know if I do add it am I limited to the LR brand or is there another option.

I have never had any fuel related problems as well but I dont use any fuel additives
I would think you should be fine. If you read a Yamaha or Honda manual they will say to only use their oil same with my Harley I would notworry about it but then again Im not a LR mechanic
